This is an additional security feature to confirm your identity and prevent any unauthorised access to your MauPass account. If you cannot read the verification code, select the 'Refresh Image' beside the verification code to generate a new code.
To ensure security, only one mobile number can be registered to one MauPass account at any time.

You can download the MauPass mobile application from Google Play Store, Apple App store and Huawei App Gallery and perform an e-KYC by taking a selfie and taking a photo of your new Biometric Identity card or Passport. Update the app if you are using old versions. The mobile app will confirm your identity and will activate 2FA on your profile.
You can also visit the nearest Mauritius Post office with your National Identity Card to activate 2FA for your account.

To better protect your personal data, you can choose to set up SMS, Email or Mobile Authenticator 2FA

MauPass Two-Factor Authentication (MauPass 2FA) helps to better protect your personal data. There are two steps in this security process.

Yes! MauPass mobile app is free. All you need is a smartphone and internet connection to log in to government digital services, even when you are overseas.
No, you can still choose to use your existing MauPass 2FA mode(s), such as SMS 2FA or Email.

Having a strong password is essential to keeping your MauPass account safe.
Your MauPass password should meet the following conditions:
You are advised not to use a password that can be easily guessed, such as your contact number, date of birth, identity card number or family member's name.
If you have not logged into your MauPass account for a prolonged period of time, your account will be listed as dormant. This is part of the security measures in place to protect users' account and personal data.

If you did not receive your One-Time Password (OTP) within one minute, select 'Resend OTP' to request a new OTP.
MauPass supports local Mauritian numbers only. If you are overseas then you can request your OTPs through Email or through the MauPass mobile app which can be downloaded from Google Play Store, Apple App store or Huawei App Gallery. Update the app if you are using old versions.

There is a chance that someone has your MauPass username and password, and is trying to log into your account. However, with MauPass 2FA, your account is protected. The hacker needs to have the OTP you received to be able to login to perform transactions involving sensitive data.
But we strongly advise you to take the following actions:

If you are logging into MauPass on a public computer:
Your account has already been migrated and an email was sent to you. Please check your mailbox and click the green 'Verify' button or the Email confirmation link to activate your account. You will be asked to create a new password.
If you did not receive an activation email, go to the Homepage, click on Account activation. Enter your email address and click on Submit button.
Check you Spam/Junk folder in your mailbox.
Note that if your First Name, Surname and National Identity Number was incorrect in your account on the Government portal, then your account has not been migrated to MauPass. You will need to register/create a new account on MauPass.
